Clever Animation Campaign - Take the Bus

Here are three commercials that makeup a brilliant campaign created by Duval Guillaume in Belgium.  The production company is Creative Conspiracy.  The first commercial, Penguins, was created some time ago, in 2009.

The second one, Ants, is right in step with the others.

Finally, here's the third, Crabs.

Wonderful music and great Sound Effects makes these funny spots all the more powerful.

Talking Animals & Music - Great Video

Talking animals (my favorite) and animals set to music, this can be great material and funny stuff.  It's natural comedy.  Doesn't need to be complicated by tricky jokes with long, complicated punch lines.

Bounder.  This guy is One Happy Pooch.

The clip below - What Animals Are Really Thinking - is hilarious.  The english accents make it even funnier and unexpected.

Direct TV Campaign.... Pushing it to the Limit

Happy New Year friends.  Sorry to take so much time off but things got crazy in December.

So here's a new 2012 comedy campaign that impressed me in the last few days... it's for Direct TV.  I call it pushing it to the limit because it takes a simple premise and it keeps running with it beyong the plausible to the ridiculous... and isn't that what funny is?  Here are a few of the ads.

The first is called Don't Wakeup in a Roadside Ditch.

The second is called Don't have a Grandson with a Dog Collar.

A third one called Don't Take in Stray Animals - not so funny, but we'll let you decide.

Here's a link to a George Bush sendup I produced for a client Jib Jab style.

Here we go.  Hope you are off to a great New Year!  Your video loving friend, Paul Dewey

Great FedEx Golf Commercial

Here's a funny, 'comedy' commercial made by Fedex for the Fedex Cup.  Real simple, real funny.   Nice clean and simple commercial.  In classic tv comedy style the commercial manages to squeeze three jokes out of one by their being unable to disable the computer.  Great stuff.

Suprise: Don't Give Them What They Expect

Here's a creative and fun commercial for a French water, that certainly offers up some surprises. But a 95 second commercial is a rare luxury in the U.S.

Keep them guessing.  Great way to keep your audience interested - avoid the expected.  The data on FB shows that a lot of videos are clicked but abandoned after five seconds.  Click count is nice, but you want to get your message across.  That's not going to happen if they only watch for a few seconds.  Commercial producers used to use all kinds of tricks to avoid bailout.... a funny premise is often a good way to keep them watching.
