Intense Animation - Drugs and Violence

Here's a frightening and fascinating animated, stop-motion short by Quique Rivera with a big message.  The animated piece examines the relationship between drugs, violence and ambitiion and how it is analogous to the lives of mosquitoes.

Chipolte Hits a Home Run: the Scientist

Telling a story as complicated as the Chipolte story is NOT easy. Nobody said it was easy.  Add the fact that you have never created an ad before to that mission and you opt to take your first swing with a TWO minute commercial during the Grammys.  Well, you got some cahones.  And it took them to go with Chipoltes strikingly different ad run during last night's Grammy awards.  Not only is the ad good, but it's fantastic!!!  Two thumbs up.   Well done.  Then ad the Coldplay track sung by Willie Nelson sets the perfect tone.  Chipolte, you done great.  Back to Basics Baby!  The spot is called the Scientist.  It's the qunitessential argument about going back to basics with our food and putting an end to all the highly processed foods in our diet.  There's a movie created by Kristin Canty called Farmageddon (I worked on the project) with that same message and it's no accident that one of the main farmers we interviewed in the documentary, Joel Salatin, sells his pork to Chipolte.

Clever Animation Campaign - Take the Bus

Here are three commercials that makeup a brilliant campaign created by Duval Guillaume in Belgium.  The production company is Creative Conspiracy.  The first commercial, Penguins, was created some time ago, in 2009.

The second one, Ants, is right in step with the others.

Finally, here's the third, Crabs.

Wonderful music and great Sound Effects makes these funny spots all the more powerful.

Bob: An Animated Gerbil

Bob's adventure is a big one for such a short animated film.  He covers a lot of ground.  Take a look at his adventures.  Fun little story.

Animation is challenging video production.  It's not the kind of thing you can do in a week as it takes a good deal of preparation and a number of steps depending on the kind of animation you want to create.  Computer animation, like the stuff you see in Bob, usually employes some modeling, and a good amount of time on a powerful computer to crunch out the frames.  Our work for MIT's Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies used animation to explain a story that ranged from the nano schedule to the scale in our world.  Moving back and forth between those worlds, while envisioning how technology might enhance the gear belonging to future soldiers was well suited to animation.    Sorry, the sounds of the live interviews is a little out of sync.  The MIT ISN video is three up from the bottom of the page linked here.  deweymedia Executive Producer Paul Dewey has produced a range of animated projects, from animated logos for GE and Pepsi, to his simple animation work for Pubget.
