Whopper Virgins: Creativity, But Will It Sell?

Burger King's Whopper Virgins commericals are really cutting through the ad clutter in TV land.  You can tell they are resonating when there are hundreds of copycat videos mimicking the commercial campagin.  This link jumps you to the WHOPPER VIRGINS site with a video that's more than 7 minutes long.   My theory is that the people from non-American cultures are so unsettled that it's hard not to stop and take a look.   The new campaign is not without its critics.  Tasteless and insensitive sums it all up.  Here's an ABC news   explaining objections to this campaign done about 'hamburger illiterate' people of the world.

Whether or not the campaign spins off profits to Burger King is still tbd.  We'll know in the coming weeks when BK reports profits.  Still it's another standout campaign creatively speaking from the folks who brought us the Whopper Freakout campaign last year.
