How do you make a movie about Jack Kerouac's writing appeal to a whole new generation?  Take some of the best rock and rollers from this generation and have them create a music track for the film. That's what has kept this two year old film from being released, but the wait is well worth it when you see the wild imagery and you hear it's fitting pairing with the great tracks created with the collaboration of Benjamin Gibbard from Death Cab for Cutie and Jay Farrar from Son Volt.  As the 40th anniversary of Jack Kerouac's death fast approaches, this film may bring a whole new awareness to Kerouac's trippy writing.  The risk is that it may promote a whole lot of drug taking to make this film even stranger than it already is.  What makes this film even more appealing to me is that it was edited by my good friend Cob Carlson, a true music afficanado, and one fine editor.
